*Long story short for this one....
This is a common snapping turtle that lives here at our pond. I was surprised that she had come back this year!Any way, this fella wonders all over the yard digging. Well, its that time of year! She is laying eggs! She also layed eggs last year but they didn't hatch.  I hope this year they will! Anyway....I figured that this turtle must be quite old due to all those scars and her size. I like this picture because this definatly shows how many frogs she ate so far! (fatso!)  (I said frogs becuase when we brought her back to the pond one time after getting lost she snatched a frog on her way in) |
